On the Xbox 360, it is acquired when unlocking an achievement in BattleBlock Theater.
For the PlayStation 3 version, it is obtained upon downloading the Can't Stop Crying DLC Pack.
On the Steam version, it is automatically obtained when Battleblock Theater has been downloaded.
In the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4 versions of Remastered, Golden Whale is found inside the Church Store on Insane Mode for 750 gold.
Golden Whale drops one piece of gold every 12-17 seconds. This effect is likely more harmful than it is helpful, as the previously mentioned drop rate is very slow and can distract players when in combat. Fighting the Barbarian Boss on Normal Mode, or even better, the Painter, repeatedly will generally have a better yield for less time, so it is advisable to use a different Animal Orb.
Golden whale increases the chances of enemies dropping a gold coin and boosts the drop rate of gems in all chests that have random coin drops (Like boss chests)
