Castle Crashers Wiki

The only thing true about this page is the fact that these things were believed by some fans at some time. These have been long confirmed as untrue and are unfounded.

Yellow Knight[]

Perhaps one of the most infamous and longstanding rumors of Castle Crashers, the Yellow Knight was a hypothetical deleted character. He was supposedly found in the beta version of the game. He would have been one of the four main knights, and possessed fire magic. He would have later been replaced by Orange Knight.

This was confirmed to be untrue by the game's artist, Dan Paladin, who stated there was no Yellow Knight planned as the team was trying to keep the main colors from being too close to one another.[1]

Fan-made Rendition of Yellow Knight

There are 5 alleged unlocking methods of the Yellow Knight:

Other Deleted Characters[]

These are characters rumored to have been dropped throughout development. The only confirmed characters to have been considered/developed that didn't make it to the final game are the ones found on the deleted characters page.

  • Rainbow Knight: This character would be unlocked by getting all the characters to level 99.
  • Arabian Knight: The Arabian Knight was going to fight for the King, but the four Knights were enough. This character was changed into Saracen.
  • Prince: The King's son. The King was not originally going to be DLC and was supposed to be playable at the start of the game. To unlock the Prince, one would have to beat the game with the King. He was removed when the Open Faced Gray Knight was announced, thus making the King Pack DLC.
  • Evil Knight: Planned to be a boss as well as a playable character unlocked by beating the game as the Conehead. This character was replaced by the Conehead Groom.
  • Monkey Man: Dropped in favor of Snakey.
  • Assassin: The King's assassin was to be playable, but was dropped due to lack of space. The original way to unlock the Assassin was to beat the game with the Prince.

Lore[]

With Castle Crashers being a game relatively light on story, some bits of story have been circulated and nearly accepted as fact. Particularly, a description of the Blacksmith's backstory existed on his page for a while:

"The Blacksmith was once one of the most powerful and capable knights in the King's court. Because of his extreme battle prowess, the Blacksmith was allowed to wear the color purple, a color usually exclusive to the King due to the high price of purple dye. The Blacksmith was also permitted to wear atop his helmet a pair of antlers, fashioned after the antlers of the Weapons Frog, his spirit animal. Alas, over time, the Blacksmith grew weak and weary of the battlefield. Before he was totally defeated, the King decided to allow him to retire and put his expertise in battle to a new use as the royal blacksmith. But legend tells of the day that the Blacksmith will return to the battlefield..."

Character Abilities[]

Throughout the years, random rumors have persisted around abilities of characters.

  • Ninja's melee speed is faster than other characters, at a rate similar to the PlayStation 3 port's melee speed.
  • Ninja's shuriken moves faster than other projectiles.
  • Fencer's splash hits more often/costs less than Industrialist's.
  • Iceskimo's air projectile costs as much as Blue Knight's splash. This was true in previous versions, but has long been patched.

Castle Crashers Remastered Differences[]

When Castle Crashers Remastered released for Xbox One, a lot of misinformation spread about the "differences" between the versions. Some notable of these was that Barbarian's splash was overhauled, and that Fencer and Industrialist were nerfed. The only actual change regarding characters was the slight tweak of Killer Beekeeper's splash.
