Cardinal

Cardinal is one of the 29 Animal Orbs a player can obtain in the game Castle Crashers.

Location[]

The Cardinal can be found In the Industrial Castle level, following a Beefy Brute. Simply defeat the Beefy Brute, and it will be free for the player to pick up.

Ability[]

Primary Ability

"Secret Find"

Upon moving through a level which contains a hidden item, the Cardinal will fly towards the item and bring it to the player.

The items that the Cardinal brings to the player are as follows:
Thief Sword at the beginning of Forest Entrance.
Boomerang at the beginning of Thieves' Forest.
Pointy Sword at the end of the Industrial Castle, after the Industrial Machine boss fight.
Fishing Rod in the Marsh level after the Beefy Skeletons fight.
Key Sword in the Full Moon level.

Hidden Ability

"Magic Boost"

Increases Magic by +2. This effect is only in the Remastered versions of Castle Crashers.

In The Behemoth's third game, BattleBlock Theater, the Cardinal can be unlocked as a Prisoner head.
Cardinal, Zebra, and Beholder are the only Animal Orbs in the entire game to provide a Magic bonus.
The Cardinal animal orb appears to be based on a Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis), as the Cardinal in the game has a black mask around the face, a prominent crest, and red coloring. The Cardinal is also confirmed to be a male because of said black mask.
The Cardinal is an Avatar Award in the Xbox 360 version of Castle Crashers that is named "Animal Orb-Cardinal". In order to retrieve the Avatar Award, simply kill the Brute.
